Safety

GT takes safety seriously.

As a member of the National Safety Council, GT Mechanical is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for its employees and subcontractors. We strive to provide a safe working environment free from recognized hazards. Our Safety Program is designed to prevent the occurrence of workplace injuries and we strive to accomplish zero worker injuries. Supervisors at all levels, together with our safety director, evaluate safety performance on a regular basis. Our forepersons and supervisors conduct pre-job/pre-task safety and health planning, addressing the most common hazards in mechanical construction work. GT Mechanical encourages worker participation and provides incentives for workers to perform their work tasks safely.

Most of GT Mechanical's forepersons and supervisors have successfully completed a 30-hour OSHA Training Course in Construction Safety & Health, and many of our field employees have completed the 10-hour OSHA Training Course in Construction Safety & Health. All of our employees attend in-house quarterly seminars as well as safety classes sponsored by The Construction Safety Council, the MCA, the Sheet Metal Workers Union, and the Pipe Fitters Union.

Jennifer Koss is our Safety Director, and she holds the Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) credential.  She also is an active member of the Mechanical Contractors Association’s safety committee. If you have any questions regarding safety, please reach out to her by filling out the form through the “Contact GT” button above.
